Experience Uganda’s wild side with a 4 days Uganda wildlife safari
Have you ever had a chance to meet Uganda’s wild side? If you haven’t well I am going to give you an overview of what a Uganda wildlife safari has to offer to you following a 4 days Uganda safari to Murchison Falls National Park. This story is primarily based on the experience of a lovely group of doctors who decided to explore Uganda after their work in Mulago hospital- Uganda’s major referral hospital. This safari in Uganda kicked off with an early morning pick up which was done by one of several professional driver guides using one of our wide fleet of safari cars which include 4×4 safari vans for hire in Uganda, 4×4 safari land cruisers for hire in Uganda/ 4×4 safari jeeps for hire in Uganda and 4×4 safari coasters for hire in Uganda. For this particular Uganda safaris experience, it was a really comfortable 4×4 safari van for hire in Uganda that did the trick.
The journey to Murchison falls
This Uganda safari tour to Murchison falls commenced with an early morning pick up from Kampala then we embarked on a 7-8 hours journey to the park. Although this Uganda tours adventure is quite long, its quite fascinating while it lasts, as you get to enjoy splendid views of Uganda’s lush green landscape along the way as well as the incredibly thrilling road stops that this journey comes with. Speaking of road stops, the first one came about in a local town called Kasana at a roadside fresh fruit market where you get to replenish your energy levels as you savour an assortment of fresh, sweet and juicy Ugandan fruits that are purely organic. On arrival to this market, your 4×4 safari van for hire in Kampala gets swarmed by frantic vendors who are carrying a wide array of merchandise and by-merchandise in this case I mean a variety of tropical fruits that range from pineapples, sugarcane, bananas and I promise these are the sweetest bananas you will ever taste in anywhere on the planet and very much all the other fruits as well. What however caught my eye is a local tropical fruit called “FEENE” which I learnt from our guide that its called Jack fruit in English, this fruit has a bit hard and roughcast outer layer that is filled with onion-like fruits that have a seed inside each of them. Tasting this fruit truly cements the fact that Uganda is a country of wide diversity in everything because its absolutely sweet as it is loaded with natural sugars.
Rhinos encounters are an unexpected bonus
We proceeded with our safari Uganda journey to Ziwa rhino sanctuary. Just as its name suggests, the Ziwa rhino sanctuary gives you an opportunity to meet one of the 5 big Africa game- the rhinos as this sanctuary is home to 27 of these land giants. These African giants had been almost completely wiped out from Uganda but these have been restored with the help of this sanctuary and now Uganda’s future as an African wildlife safari destination where you can meet the big five is seemingly more clear each day that pass as the sanctuary continues to record an increase in the numbers of these land giants. As you search for the rhinos here on your Uganda safari tour adventure, don’t miss out on the various bird species that are found here. After a fascinating encounter with the rhinos, we transferred to Kabalega Dinners which about a Mile or 1.6km South of the sanctuary where we enjoyed a sumptuous hot exotic meal which is really glimmer of hope to anyone who homesick as this restaurant prepares tasty American style food that will definitely remind of home. From the restaurant, it was a one-way nonstop 3-hour drive to the Tangi gate which is on the northern side of the park.
Murchison Falls National Park- a place of magical Africa wildlife safari encounters
Once we got to Murchison we were ushered into the tropical savanna wilderness and you can’t help but have your jaw drop given the biodiversity that exists here. The initial Uganda wildlife safari game drive we had on our way to the lodge was a fantastic one as we spotted many giraffe, elephants, baboons, and other wildlife along the road. We stayed at Twiga Tales which was a bit rustic but was comfortable, clean, and the food was wonderfully prepared by a chef every evening. Across the next two days, we explored the park with Robert as our guide in a 4×4 safari van and what made this car the best one for our safari was the pop up roof which allowed us to stand and have magnificent views of the Murchison falls wilderness and also take epic photographs of the several animals that we encountered in the various tour Uganda game drives we undertook across a space of 2 days. In these 2 days, we saw lions on the hunt, a leopard feasting in a tree, hippos, crocs, many exotic birds. Although a Uganda tour to Murchison falls is quite a spectacle of its own, Uganda still has more wildlife destinations that give you a unique insight into what Uganda has to offer as a destination and these include Lake Mburo National Park Uganda, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kidepo Valley National Park Murchison Falls National Park Uganda.

Back to Murchison falls
As we earlier stated, Uganda is a country that is really blessed and we still wanted to see more of its beautiful wild hence on the way out of the park, we tried to do a last-minute add of Uganda Chimpanzee Trekking safari but the national park venue was all booked up that day. We decided to go with a second rate operation run by Twiga Tales. It was a fun hike through the jungle but we only saw one Chimpanzee way up in a tree, so that was a bit of a bummer, but we did get a nice refund for that excursion. If we do the trip again, we will make sure to prebook the main Chimp Trekking venue which is done in Budongo Forest in the southern sector of Murchison falls or also in Kibale forest National park that is endowed with over 5000 chimpanzees and 12 other primate species on top of 350 bird species- Uganda is really blessed for sure. This, therefore, means if you aren’t interested in moving a lot, you can visit this Kibale National Park and enjoy a Uganda birding safari experience, Uganda chimpanzee watching safari all in one place. at the end of our nature walk, we started our Uganda safaris tours journey back to Kampala which lasted about 4 hours to get there then we proceeded to the airport for our flight long back home. All the transfers were done by our guide using the company’s 4×4 safari van for hire in Uganda.
