Bwana Tembo Safari Camp

Owned by an Italian family that arrived in Uganda in the year 1986, Bwana Tembo Safari is situated along the northern boundary of the Uganda safari destination of Murchison Falls National Park 10km from Tangi gate. The safari accommodation establishment opened its doors in February 2012 to offer a friendly overnight stay to Uganda safari undertakers.

Bwana Tembo offers mid-range accommodation and its meals are inclined more into Italian tradition as a result of the owner’s influence. The accommodation consists of cottages and safari tents thus serving the diverse clients’ interests. All rooms are self-contained featuring flush toilets, showers and hand basins. The water is both cold and hot. Every cottage features its own veranda. Water is heated by solar water heaters.

Bwana Tembo literally means a Master elephant which was acquired from the groups of elephants the used to visit the site when the lodge was being constructed. Even up to now, elephants make visits to the lodge and its environs.

There are six (6) cottages which can be aligned as single, double and twin rooms. The provision for third bed is also put in consideration. The rooms feature a safe and a two shelved wardrobe. The cottages feature a small veranda overlooking the Nile that offers impressive views during the sun set. Bwana Tembo also has four (4) safari tents that are set on the upper side of the camp. The safari tents have well set wooden platform raised off ground and thatched roof which offers additional protection from sun and rain. The safari tents can be aligned for twin or single occupancy. The brick work made bathroom is attached at the back of the tent and a deck area is available to enable Uganda safari undertakers sleeping in the tent to take a relaxing sundowner.
